Colby/Spinner. Red Back. “a” on Front. Vibrant paper with solid bronzing. A central portrait of General Francis E. Spinner, Treasurer of the United States from 1861 to 1875, whose signature is featured on several Fractional Currency issues.
Perforated Edges; with monogram of the American Bank Note Co. on the reverse. Fully perforated with solid margins and strong inking. The central design is that of George Washington featured on five 10 Cents stamps contemporay to the time. A high grade example with PCGS Banknote reporting 4 in this grade and only 1 finer.

Green Reverse Without Surcharge. Design figure “1” on the obverse. Bust of F. E. Spinner. Vivid color with exceptional bronzing. Well centered in three directions, and only the lower margin is without the border.

Green Reverse With Surcharge”A-2-6-5″. Design figure “1” on obverse. Although, the upper margin is tight, the note is still fully framed with good color and nice bronzing. Comment; Staple Holes. Two small pin holes located in the right end quadrant, center.
Green Type II Reverse. Design figure “a” on the obverse. Bust of E. F. Spinner. Well balanced margins with solid bronzing. Comment: Stained, for some light staining on the end of the note.
