This note displays an allegorical vignette of the South striking down the North and a portrait of Judah P. Benjamin, Secretary of War and later Secretary of State for the Confederacy. Typical tight margins surround strong black ink and bright premium paper.

A beautiful example of this early Legal Deuce displays unusually vibrant color that contrasts nicely with its bright premium paper. Only lightly handled and with a well deserved ‘EPQ’ designation that is not often seen in this series.
