Number “1” on Front. Red Back. A red back Spinner that was one of the lower three notes on the left side of the sheet as evidenced by the plate position indicator “1” on the left side. Well inked with solid bronzing.
Red Back. “A-2-6-5”. Original paper displays ample margins, great color, and strong bronzing.
Hand Signed. Strong inks and bold signatures combine with original paper. Nice margins provide ample borders fully around.
Comment: Margin Tear. Issued between 1864 and 1869, this note features the bust of Francis E. Spinner. Nice bronzing and good color, a small margin tear left end center.
A well embossed and wonderfully original example of this much scarcer green back Spinner which has both “1” and “a” position indicators.
Green Reverse Without Surcharge. Design figure “1” on the obverse. Bust of F. E. Spinner. Vivid color with exceptional bronzing. Well centered in three directions, and only the lower margin is without the border.
Green Reverse. Design figure “a” on front. The margins are a little tight, but complete. Decent color and nice bronzing.
Green Reverse With Surcharge “A-2-6-5”. Without design figures on obverse. Bust of General F. E. Spinner. Upper margin is a little tight, but still fully framed and excellent bronzing. Only 4 notes have graded finer at PMG.
Green Reverse With Surcharge”A-2-6-5″. Design figure “1” on obverse. Although, the upper margin is tight, the note is still fully framed with good color and nice bronzing. Comment; Staple Holes. Two small pin holes located in the right end quadrant, center.
