A handsome example from the storied Dahlonega Mint, displaying bright yellow-gold luster with warm honey accents—classic for original Southern gold. The obverse features sharp definition in Liberty’s hair and coronet while the reverse wreath is well-articulated, with a bold “D” mintmark. Both sides show satiny cartwheel luster and pleasing originality, free from distractions beyond a few light contact marks expected for the grade. One of the finest known survivors from a low-mintage of just 6,360 coins. PCGS has graded just 2 coins finer.
