A pleasing example of the iconic first-year Standing Liberty Quarter, struck during the final two weeks of 1916.  A classic twentieth century rarity with a mintage of just 52,000. This example displays bright original luster with attractive silver surfaces and solid overall eye appeal. Liberty’s figure is well defined for the issue, with clear shield details and very nearly a Full Head. The reverse shows a bold eagle in flight with strong feather detail and clean fields. Light scattered contact marks, consistent with the grade, do not detract from this coin’s pleasing appearance.
